Yearly Horoscope 2021

Read your 2021 horoscope now to see what lies ahead

If 2020 was the year when everything fell apart, 2021 is the year when we begin picking up some of the pieces. Though, to rebuild, we'll need to take on the formidable challenge of revamping our social, financial, and political institutions if we want to see a society where everyone in it -- not just a select few -- can thrive. With a 3-part square-off happening between Saturn in collectively conscious Aquarius and Uranus in security-driven Taurus (February 17, June 14, and December 24), we can expect to see more conflicts and confrontation between those who want a more progressive and inclusive society and those who want to flout the rules to maintain positions of power or control.

Since Saturn is associated with fear, in addition to rules and authority, and Fixed signs like Taurus and Aquarius can be slow to change, we could also see some staunch resistance to progress, particularly from those who see it as a threat. However, as the new year kicks off with a cluster of planets in community-oriented Aquarius in early February (including ethical Jupiter, team-building Venus, and supportive Saturn), one thing is for sure: We'll need to exhibit the best of humanity and band together to overcome obstacles and create true change.

The silver lining

Optimistic Jupiter will be working to help us keep the faith and remain inspired when it briefly moves into compassionate and uplifting Pisces from May 13-July 28. Jupiter in Pisces can be quite the galvanizing force when it comes to encouraging people toward selflessness and doing the right thing. Still, we'll need to watch out for guru-like swindlers and false prophets, as well as indiscriminately believing everything we see or hear and avoiding things that we shouldn't.

Jupiter's transits during 2021 will also be influencing the eclipses we'll be having on May 26 and December 4 in freedom-loving and philosophical Sagittarius, because this is Jupiter's sign of rulership. These eclipses will fall on the fated South Node (currently in Sagittarius), which will challenge and push us to move away from overconsumption, fanaticism, and self-righteousness.

We're due for a breakthrough

The Saturn-Uranus mashup -- combined with Jupiter's yearlong stay in Aquarius, a game-changing Solar Eclipse in tech-savvy Gemini on June 10, and a critical Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on November 19 -- will help drive big developments and modernization in the fields of technology and science, as well as agriculture, finance, and how we handle our natural resources.

The last time that Saturn was in Aquarius was back in 1991 when the internet was introduced to the public. The last time that Saturn and Uranus squared off was during 1999-2000. Although they were in different zodiac signs then, Saturn and Uranus helped fuel the partnership between Silicon Valley and Wall Street, leading to the dot-com boom. During this time in history, we also saw breakthroughs in science and technology, like the decoding of the human genome which helped revolutionize modern medicine, in addition to a worsening environmental crisis, which highlighted the need for increased protections.

Of the kind of scientific and technological advances that we could expect to see in 2021, definitive COVID-19 treatment could be one of them. All the while, a still worsening environmental crisis will demand our attention. We could also see more outrage toward the global Tech Giants and a push for change in terms of the liberties given to them, as people seek stronger ethics in how our technology is produced and utilized.

Feel the fear and do it anyway

As 2021 comes to a close, Jupiter officially moves into Pisces on December 28, while love planet Venus goes retrograde in committed Capricorn on December 19. We will need to reassess our values and shared responsibilities, in addition to re-evaluating our worthiness in relation to productivity and material wealth. Above all else, 2021 will drive us to push through the things we've been fearful or avoidant of changing so we can improve our quality of life.
